328: No matter how angry you get

Subtitles:

Ne kadar kızarsan kız, haklısın.
= No matter how angry you get, you are right.

Vocabulary:

ne [=what; how]

kadar [=amount; degree]

ne kadar [=no matter how; however]

kızarsan [=if you get angry]
(conditional mood-present tense) from kızmak [=to get angry]

kız [=be/get angry]
(imperative mood) [=be/get angry]

haklısın [=you are right; you’ve got a point; fair enough]. The adjective is “haklı” [=right; fair].

Tip:
"kızarsan kız" literally means [=if you get angry, get angry]. It is a phrasal usage, so we can't take its meaning literally, as it's always used with a "Ne"; "Ne kadar"; "Nasıl" etc. before it and has the basic meaning of "no matter...".

İki saat ortadan kayboluyorum, olaylar olaylar olaylar olaylar!
= I am away for two hours and major news hits!

Bu sefer çok fena, çok!
= This time it is very bad, very!

_______________________________________
Vocabulary:

iki [=two]

saat [=hour]

ortadan kayboluyorum [from ortadan kaybolmak = to disappear; to leave a place; to make oneself scarce; to get out of sight]

olaylar [=events; developments]. The repetition of the word in the scene is merely to show frustration on the part of the speaker, hence I opted for a translation like "major news hits".

bu [=this]

sefer [=time]. The basic meaning of this word is "journey; excursion".

bu sefer [=this time]

çok [=very]

fena [=bad]
