337: Let's not hurry!

Subtitles:

Ya Can, aceleye getirmeyelim!
= Can, let’s not hurry!

Getirelim!
= Let’s (hurry)!

Vocabulary:

ya [interjection= used to express surprise, frustration or disappointment]

aceleye getirmeyelim [= let us not hurry]
(subjunctive mood negative) from aceleye getirmek [=to hurry; to do something in a hurry]

Tip:
aceleye getirmek” is composed of the noun “acele” [= hurry; rush] + the verb “getirmek” [=to get; to bring].

getirelim [= let us hurry]

Tip:
Note that in other situations, “getirelim” would mean [=let us bring] since it comes from “getirmek” [=to bring].  However, in this context, Can uses the opposite of “aceleye getirmeyelim” [=let us not hurry] and omits “aceleye”. The full phrase should read as “aceleye getirelim”  [=let us hurry], but since it is obvious what he is referring to, there is no need to repeat “aceleye”.
