316: I will be waiting for you, darling

Subtitles:

Artık dönmesen bile.
= Even if you won’t return anymore.

Beklerim seni canım.
= I will be waiting for you, darling.

Vocabulary:

artık [=anymore]

dönmesen [=you won't  return]
(conditional mood tense negative) from dönmek= to return

bile [=even if]

beklerim [=I wait]
(present simple) from beklemek= to wait

seni [=you]

canım [=darling; sweetheart; honey; love; beloved]. This is a term of endearment composed of “can” meaning “soul; life” plus the suffix “-ım” meaning “my”.

Tip:
Although the verb "beklemek" is used in the present simple tense [beklerim= I wait], the meaning is future here. Present simple verbs in Turkish can be used to denote the future. That is why it is translated into "I will wait".

Video is from the Turkish Song "Seviyorum Seni" by Ebru Yaşar
