274: Do come!

Kartal, gelsene!
= Kartal, do come!

*gelsene [from gelmek= to come]

Language Tip:
[-sene] added to the stem of the verb gets us the equivalent of "Why don't you come?"; "Do come!"; or "Come on!". "Gel" on the other hand is the imperative form meaning [=come!].

It can be a friendly suggestion or an expression of impatience depending on your tone of voice as in the examples below.

Bonus Güzel Phrases:
1. Benimle gelsene! = Why don't you come with me?; Do come with me!
2. Atsana! = Come on, throw it!
3. Baksana! = Why don't you look!

Video is from the Turkish Series "Gecenin Kraliçesi
English Title: "Queen of the Night"
