Language Tip:
1. Hocam (lit. = my master) is typically used to address teachers or doctors in contemporary Turkish. This title was given to instructors who taught religious subjects but it is also used to address teachers in modern Turkey as an old habit.
2. Kopya çekiyo [from Kopya çekmek= to cheat in an exam; to copy from somebody]. This should be formally written as "Kopya çekiyor" [=he/she is cheating]. However, if you listen carefully to Ayşegül in the video above, you'll hear her say "çekiyo" instead of "çekiyor". Turks generally tend to leave out the final "r" for this third person conjugation.
3. İspiyoncu [=tattletale; spy; informer]. A person, especially a child, who tells someone in authority, especially a teacher, that someone else has done something bad.
